Join us for one or all three Wednesdays this Summer: July 17, August 14, and September 4.
Following Wednesday Evening Prayer (6:00 PM) and Holy Eucharist (6:20 PM) in the Church, join us in air-conditioned Draesel Hall for a short program having to do with some aspect of music or worship, followed by dessert.
French composer, organist, pianist, and teacher, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924), is probably best known for his Requiem, though his output extends far beyond. This year is the 100th anniversary of Fauré's death (November 4, 1924) and to celebrate this giant in music, we will be presenting an hour of music, discussion, and dessert. Adam Koch and a soloist will present Fauré's Pie Jesu from Requiem, Op. 80, Après un rêve (After a dream) from "Trois melodies", Lydia from "Deux melodies," along with his Pavane, and other solo piano works.
