Windows on the Middle East through the Anglican Communion
A Discussion with the Rev. Chris Bishop (who will join us by Zoom)
Chris is cofounder of SWIC (Stand with Iraqi Christians)
February 6, 2022
9:30 AM in Draesel Hall
You can also join us online through Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/8753617165 (for the password, type the numerals for eighteen ninety-nine, two thousand nineteen. No comma or space.)

SWIC’s working philosophy is based upon a simple yet profound principle: if you want to get to know someone, listen to them. Friendship is a two-way street. We know that despite our material abundance we need them to help grow our hearts every bit as much as they need us to help reestablish their communities. This is what growing kinship and effective working relationships are all about. This way of building relationships first, and finding solutions second, makes SWIC today one of the most impactful Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating on the Nineveh Plains of Iraq.
More about SWIC can be found HERE.

Our Introductory series on the Middle East:
It used to be said that the sun never set on the British Empire. Today it can be said that the sun never sets on the Worldwide Anglican Communion, the third largest Christian denomination with 85 million members.

This series will focus on the amazing inter-Christian and interfaith presence of the Anglican Church in the Gulf states. Strategically located in geographically and politically important Muslim countries, The Diocese of Cyprus and Gulf provides worship and pastoral services to an ever increasing community of ex-pats and migrant workers in these countries, even as it engages in important liaison work with Muslim leaders and the indigenous Orthodox Christian Churches, the descendants of very earliest followers of Jesus. Join Helen Goodkin, Father Beddingfield, and others as we explore this important work.
