The Gospel of Luke

  • The Church of the Holy Trinity 316 East 88th Street New York, NY, 10128 United States (map)

Dante described Luke as ‘the scribe of the gentleness of Christ’ and of all the gospels, Luke has given us a Jesus to love.  Join us as parishioner Simone Crockett leads us with John Beddingfield in an exploration of Luke and the particular way in which Luke invites us to know and to love Jesus Christ.

On November 21, we will be  focusing on the Sermon on the Plain (Luke 6:17-46) and the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-42) and Jesus visiting Martha and Mary (Luke 10:25-42).

In addition to reading the Gospel According to Luke, we recommend Luke for Everyone, by N.T. Wright, a very readable and erudite commentary on the Gospel. The church will have some copies for purchase and you can also download or purchase your copy online
