In 1373 Julian of Norwich had in her words “a revelation of love that Jesus Christ, our endless bliss, made in sixteen showings…” For 15 years Julian reflected on the revelations and wrote “I was answered in spiritual understanding, with this saying: ‘Would you know your Lord’s meaning in this thing? Know it well: love was his meaning. Who showed it you? Love. What did he show you? Love. Wherefore did he show it you? For love. Hold yourself therein and you shall know and learn more in the same; but you will never know nor learn another thing therein without end.’”

Led by Simone Crockett, we’ll read Julian’s Showings in September and October. We’ll explore her reflections on spirituality and prayer and how much we are loved by God. Julian first wrote what’s referred to as the “short text” and after the 15 years of reflection wrote the “long text”. It is her “long text” that we will be discussing. Also Julian of Norwich is the source of “All shall be well; and all manner of thing shall be well.’”
