Jazz Comes to Holy Trinity

13tet: It's All About the [13] Players!
13tet is a group of seasoned New York jazz players, playing charts that let them blow!
Smaller and leaner than the usual big band, 13tet emphasizes the players as soloists and personalities, with arrangements rooted in the big band tradition, but brought into the 21st Century. It's hard-driving jazz that explores interesting textures and meters - as long as it swings!
The current lineup are veterans of the bands of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton, James Moody, Christian McBride, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, and others, as well as Broadway orchestras and their own groups!

The Lineup: Dave Glasser, (alto sax); Ralph Lalama, (tenor sax); Ryan Anselmi (tenor sax); Andrew Hadro (baritone sax); Sam Hoyt, Dave Smith, Scott Engelbright (trumpets); Ed Neumeister, Matt McDonald, Dale Turk (trombones); Todd Coolman (bass); Alan Simon (piano); Peter Manheim (drums)

Charts are by Chris Gulhaugen, an arranger with a varied history in the business: composer, player, copyist, contractor, roadie, and conservatory administrator.
