Which Gospel Has the Camels?  Reflections on the Birth Narratives

The Gospels of Matthew and Luke provide the most extensive  stories of Jesus’ origins, but we are so used to seeing the two stories combined into “Christmas Pageant Extravaganzas” that we have lost sight of the very different messages of each author—messages which set the tone for each Gospel.  Join Helen Goodkin on December 1, 8, and 15, as we “unpack” the two birth stories to understand how each teaches us some unique things about the person of Jesus Christ. 

Helen Goodkin received an MA in Biblical Studies from General Seminary in 2002 where her thesis on the healing stories in Luke was awarded the Sutton Prize.  She has had extensive experience leading Bible studies groups throughout the northeast.
